Joy Optical was established over 60 years ago, known previously as Sangers, Prospecs and Raz Opticians. Tariq has been at the helm for 33 of those years, changing the name to Joy Optical in 2006, in honour of our beloved receptionist Joy Laurence, who worked with him during that time. Unfortunately, she passed away in her fight against cancer. She was a mentor and the spine of the business for Tariq and inspired him to rename the shop, to live up to the concept of “JOY”.
Joy Optical is very much a family oriented practice, with a team that has worked together for many years. Many of you will be familiar with Dr Jean Charles Allary, who has also been with Tariq for over 25 years.
As an independent optician, we value professionalism, excellence and service and in turn, we recognise that individuals always come before the product. We are dedicated to looking after every aspect of your eye care needs and will make sure they are met and tailored to your individual requirements.
Tariq is instrumental in having up to date equipment in practice for our optometrists (JC, Nishma & Niamh) in order to complete a thorough eye examination, leaving you with complete peace of mind.
We love to welcome new customers, so please drop in and say hello- we would be delighted to meet you!
Team Joy – “There is more to us than meets the eye”
